There are two divisions of Patriot Dogs Mission
(100% of our time and resources are allocated to this program)
Obtaining a canine: Individuals can apply to have a canine donated to them that fits their specific requirements. Dogs will either be donated or purchased to be provided for the applicant. The application will include a contract that the individual agrees to continue training, working, and treating their donated canine humanely and without use of pain for direction. Patriot Dogs Mission will take on volunteers as needed to clean kennels, prepare dog food, and walk dogs.
There is a wide range of canines that will be donated to the community to include but not limited to:
1. Narcotics Detection
2. Bomb Detection
3. Tracking
4. Forensics
5. Apprehension
6. Diabetes Alert
7. Guiding
8. PTSD
9. Autism Support Dogs
10. Firearms Detection
11. Currency Detection
12. Electronics Detection
13. Accelerant Detection
Training: Patriot Dogs Mission will not be providing training but will contract on an as needed basis or will offer scholarships for individuals to take their sponsored dog to an approved trainer. This approved trainer will be required to complete a two (2) stage authorization process. First, submit an application to become a vendor meeting requirements such as but not limited to no use of pain inflicting devises in training (i.e. prong collars or electric collars of any brand), humane treatment of every dog, written training protocols, documentation proving ability to train wide variety of dogs. Second, submit a written quote to be voted on by the board of directors of Patriot Dog Mission.
How Patriot Dogs Mission Works
Applications will be available online as well as by mail.
Once an applicant is accepted in the program to receive a dog an interview will take place assessing the individual to more specifically determine the needs and type of personality the individual has. This process is to appropriately pair and person with the dog that best fits the need(s) of the applicant.
Then it will be determined if the applicant wants to receive the canine as untrained or would like to apply for training. If training is desired then the approved vendor will be contacted and a schedule and training goals will be established.
All volunteers are FREE of charge and 100% of donated or raised funds goes to the above listed programs to further Patriot Dogs Mission.
The ultimate goal of Patriot Dogs Mission is to provide as many canines to the working dog community as possible to ease the financial strain on the individuals in need. To make this cause known Patriot Dogs Mission will utilize all platforms possible including but not limited to social media, news, trade shows, cold calls, website, and conferences.
